Us is a gripping, socially conscious horror film directed by Jordan Peele with music by Michael Abels, the composer of the critically acclaimed score for Get Out. Starring Lupita Nyongo, the film tells the story of a family who arrive at their summer home and are attacked by a group of menacing doppelgangers. In addition to being a commercial success, Us was praised for its musical score. To evoke the concepts of duality and mirror imagery,Abels paired traditional and nontraditional instruments, creating a remix ofAmerican hip hop duo Luniz’s popular song “I Got 5 On It”. Released to universal acclaim, the film grossed more than $250 million and the soundtrack has been nominated for multiple awards.
