ARA MALIKIAN

Ara Malikian was born in 19 som of an Armenian family. He started playing violin at a very young age with his father. His talent was recognized early in spite of the difficult circumstances that the Lebanese civil war forced him to live, forcing him to study for long periods in anti-aircra shel- ters. He gave his first major concert with 12 years and at 14 the conductor Hans Herbert-Jöris listened to him and got for him a scholarship from the German Government to study at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover.
At the age of 15 he was the youngest student admitted to this prestigious higher center of musical studies. Later he expanded his studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, in addition to receiving lessons from some of the most prestigious professors in the world such as Franco Gulli, Ruggiero Ricci, Ivry Gitlis,.. In the last years he released an album as a nod to his 15 years in Spain, with great collaborations at the Teatro Real de Madrid. The tour “15”, one of the biggest tours of recent years was a success of public and critics with more than 175,000 spectators and more than 150 concerts With his new album “The Incredible History of Violin”, he presented his world tour with Violín traveling through his video, reaching world prestige and visiting the most important capitals of the world with concerts in the most prestigious auditoriums and theaters in the world: London, Paris, Rome, Moscow, Buenos Aires, Mexico City, Lima, Santiago de Chile, Beijing, Hong Kong, Istanbul, Belgrade, Bratislava, Madrid, Lisbon, Berlin, ... In 2019 was the Royal Garage World Tour from the album “Royal Garage”, which features collaborations by artists such as Andrés Calamaro, Enrique Bunbury and Serj Tankian.
