THE BOOMTOWN RATS ARE BACK & AVAILABLE FOR FESTIVAL BOOKINGS IN 2017

THE BOOMTOWN RATS (Bob Geldof, Garry Roberts, Pete Briquette & Simon Crowe)

2017 marks the 40th anniversary of the release of this legendary band’s first single, which will be celebrated with an extensive European tour and brand-new songs & remixes.

Formed in 1975 in Dublin and quickly rising to fame alongside the likes of Ramones, Talking Heads, Sex Pistols, The Clash, etc. THE BOOMTOWN RATS with frontman Bob Geldof released 6 era-defining albums in the late 70s and early 80s with a string of #1 hits and multiple awards including a Grammy Award. Their massive hit “I don’t like Mondays” topped the charts in 32 countries.

After splitting up in 1986, the band made a triumphant return to live music in 2013 at the Isle of Wight Festival, having lost none of it’s raw energy & musical power. Recent shows have included the Danube Island Festival in Vienna (80.00 pax audience), Electric Picnic (Ireland) and Kivenlahti Rock (Finland).

An alarmingly strong set. The Rats blast through the hits... …combining Mick Jagger and Nick Cave...Geldof is every inch the hyperkinetic ball of sexual tension he was in his youth.'
MAIL ON SUNDAY

‘Bob Geldof became a proper rock star again, bouncing on the spot as he played with The Boomtown Rats for the first time since 1986.’
